Adele Catherine Manning, 87, of Maryville, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded
by her husband, Paul, and children on June 12, 2021, at Liberty Village of Maryville.
Adele was born June 22, 1933, in Jennings, Missouri, to Henry and Catherine
(Lammering) Mueller. She and Paul Manning were married May 22, 1954. She was a
member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Adele devoted her life to her husband and children. She loved to volunteer at the
church and school, where she sang in the choir and did playground duty for the children.
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, camping and altering wedding dresses.
Her life was a living example of faith, love and tolerance. She leaves behind a very large
family that she held in her heart with enormous pride. Survivors include her husband of
67 years, Paul Manning of Maryville, Illinois; children: Paulette MacDougall of
Edwardsville, Illinois, Steve (Diane) Manning of Collinsville, Illinois, Rosemary Merkel
of Troy, Illinois, Teresa (Darryl) Rollins of St. Charles, Missouri, Patrick (Lolita)
Manning of Collinsville, Illinois, Barbara (Jesse) Wideman of Ruma, Illinois, Susan
Manning (Jennie) of St. Louis, Missouri, Kirk (Maria) Manning of San Diego, California,
and Christine Manning of Collinsville, Illinois; sister, JoAnn Bommarito of Jennings,
Missouri, 19 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
Visitation: Friends may join the family for the visitation at 9:30 a.m until 10:30 a.m on June 22, 2021, at the gathering area of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 207 Vandalia Street. Funeral mass will start at 10:30 a.m. with Father John Beveridge officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes
Association."
