Allen "Al" Wayne O'Guin, 75, of Collinsville, Illinois passed away quietly on Friday, January 28, 2022 at his home.

He was born December 12, 1946 in Portegeville, Missouri to Harold and Estline (Dill) O'Guin.

Al married Susan Coats on October 24, 1982.  She survives his passing and remained by his side until his last breath.

Allen proudly served his country with the United State Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He worked as a roofer for Ferguson Roofing for several years before starting his own business, Allen O'Guin Roofing Company. "Al the Roofer" roofed most of the Metro East Area. Allen was an avid hunter, fisherman and card player. He was dedicated to the Granite City V.F.W. and the Cory Wilson Scholarship Association. "Big Al" loved being surrounded by his family and friends. If you knew Al, you loved him. He will certainly be missed my many.

In addition to his wife, Sue, he is survived by his sons Edward O'Guin of St. Louis, MO, Jerry Pace of Collinsville, IL, daughters Stacey (Gary Lee) O'Donnell of Collinsville, IL, Cassie (Chris) Luther of Maryville, IL, and Marcy (Mathew) Sova of Pueblo, Colorado. Al is also survived by his sisters Linda Manning of St. Louis, MO, Doris Simpson of St. Louis, MO, and Sue (Paul) Newsom of Hayti, MO. He was loved by 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild along with a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Floyd O'Guin, sisters Ann Newsom and Joy Barlett, and grandson Cory Wilson.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Herr Funeral Home 501 West. Main Street, Collinsville, Illinois.  Funeral Service will start at 12:00 p.m. following the visitation.  Cremation will follow services and inurnment and graveside services will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Jefferson Barracks at 11:30 a.m. with full Military Honors.
