IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Andrew "Drew"
Scott Baker
September 5, 1998 – May 26, 2021
Andrew "Drew" Scott Baker, 22, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away on May 26, 2021, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Drew was born September 5, 1998 to Eric Darren and Victoria Anne (Huber) Baker, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. He was a 2017 graduate of Edwardsville High School, and attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Drew was an intelligent, funny, kind-hearted person. He was quiet and introverted, but those who met him, knew his sensitive and caring soul. He was very giving and would do anything for others. Drew related best with animals and loved spending time at the zoo, or with his dog and cat.
Drew had struggles during his brief lifetime, especially over the past few years, and was always searching for anything that could relieve his pain. Ultimately, he couldn't find that relief on this earth. In spite of the immense grief and heartache we feel knowing that we'll never see Drew again, we are comforted by the knowledge that his struggles are over and he is finally at peace.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Earl Baker, Glen Huber and Mary Lou Huber.
Survivors include his mother and father, Vicki and Darren Baker of Edwardsville, Illinois; sister, Katie Baker of Edwardsville, Illinois; grandmother, Ann Baker of Nicholasville, Kentucky; uncles: Eddie (Mary Beth) Baker of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Chris (Kerry Goetzinger) Huber of Louisville, Kentucky, and Erick (Missy) Huber of Norristown, Pennsylvania; aunts: Lisa (Gary) Baunach of Louisville, Kentucky, and Terie (Glenn) Eilers of Shelbyville, Kentucky; as well as numerous cousins.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021, from 2:00 until 6:00 at Sunset Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Illinois. A celebration of life will begin at 6:00 at the funeral Home. Cremation has been accorded by Sunset Hill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Andrew Baker to Covenant House-Missouri, a non-profit organization that provides housing and supportive services to youth facing homelessness.
