Obituary

Anita M. Kolling, nee Schmidt, 91, of Maryville, Ill., born Feb. 8, 1920, in Bunker Hill, Ill., died at 10:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, in Maryville, Ill.



Mrs. Kolling along with being a devout church member of St. John Lutheran Church in Maryville, Ill., was also a member of Ladies Aid and was a Sunday School teacher and was the custodian at the church for many years. She was a member of an organ club, a Cub Scout den mother and operated Kollings Kones for many years.



Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Kolling, whom she married on April 28, 1940; parents, Wesley and Martha, nee Wood, Schmidt; two brothers, Orrin and Virgil Schmidt; and a sister, Melba Schmidt.



Surviving are her sons and daughter, Larry (Lorraine) Kolling of Maryville, Ill., Neil (Linda) Kolling of Collinsville, Ill., and Jean (William) Eaker of Milford, Kan.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at St. John Lutheran Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Maryville, Ill., with Pastor Lee Maxwell officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
