Anna Ruth Prenzel, nee Alford, 79, of Belleville, Ill., born May 8, 1936, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.

Anna retired from her restaurant, Ruth-Baby Ruth's Restaurant in Fairmont City, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Plesant and Anna Laura, nee Conover, Alford; and her husband, Franklin H. Prenzel.

Surviving are her children, Jerry (Jennie) Prenzel of Collinsville, Ill., Sheryl (Butch) Livesay of Granite City, Ill., Terry (Emma) Prenzel of Springville, Ind., and Timothy (Loretta) Prenzel of Belleville, Ill.; five grandchildren, Brandon (Jennifer) Prenzel of Chicago, Ill., Dawn (John) Cipponeri of Granite City, Ill., Vanessa Prenzel of Collinsville, Ill., Joshua Fiscus, and Samantha Prenzel of Springville, Ind.; her sisters, Nellie Brayton of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Velma Lolley of Lebanon, Mo., and Wilma Cochran of Bowling Green, Ky.; a brother, Wilburn Alford of Hamel, Ill.; and a brother-in-law, Johny (Evelyn) Prenzel. Also surviving are her nine great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jocelyn, Jordan, and Gianni Cipponeri, Gabby, Jadon and Jaxon Prenzel, and Charlotte and Alexander Prenzel.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2015, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Blankley officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
