Obituary

Annabell Ballard Hoskins

Annabell Ballard Hoskins was born August 1, 1932, in Jackson, MS., to the union of Viola, nee Singletary, Ballard and Percy Ballard Sr. Her parents preceeded her in death. After moving to St. Louis, MO., at an early age, she and her siblings were raised by her Aunt, the late Bessie Lily Rozelle. Annabell graduated from Sumner High School in St. Louis, MO. She moved to Collinsville, IL., where she met and married Robert Pasadena Hoskins, who passed away in 2010.

She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was a member of Wilkerson Chapel AME Church in Collinsville, IL., for many years. Annabell read her Bible daily and always kept an open Bible next to her bed. She watched Dr. Charles Stanley, Andrew Womack, Bishop TD Jakes and other religious programs on a daily basis.

Annabell had a "green thumb" and her house was full of plants and flowers. She was an outstanding cook and had a beautiful singing voice. She loved home decorating television shows and magazines and enjoyed shopping with her daughters. She enjoyed talking and laughing with family and friends of all generations. She was a friend to many of her children''s friends and they always spoke about how much they cared for her. She followed politics and current events and was very excited to cast her vote for a female President of the United States.

Annabell departed life on January 7, 2018, at Christian Northeast Hospital. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Percy (Dorothy) Ballard Jr. of St. Louis, MO.; sister Geraldine Gibson (Edward Gibson Sr.) of Olivette, MO.; cousin Maceo Lott in Englewood, CA.; her two sons, Robert Hoskins JR. of Collinsville, IL., and Gregory Hoskins of Centralia, IL.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Angela Klocke of Edwardsville, IL, Brenda Hoskins of Collinsville, IL, Sandra Hoskins of Collinsville, IL.; her son Mark (Bertha) Hoskins of Alton, IL.; her sister Ernestine Wilkins of Cleveland, OH.; her daughter-in-law June Hoskins of Collinsville, IL.

Annabell loved her grandchildren. She leaves five grandsons, Justin (Karli) Hoskins of Collinsville, IL., Brandon (Jessica) Hoskins of Collinsville, IL., Christopher (Tabatha) Klocke of Boulder, CO., Jonathan Klocke of Chicago, IL., Benjamin Hoskins of Florissant, MO.; as well as her six great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

She loved dearly and was dearly loved.
