IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Antonio Ceja
Gutierrez
July 29, 1939 – May 25, 2025
Antonio Ceja Gutierrez, 85, passed away peacefully at home on May 25th, 2025. He spent his last days all in the presence of his wife, children, grandchildren, friends, and family that came to visit from near and far. Over the past year, he beat blood disease, and fought vigilantly against lung disease, until God finally called him home. He was known for his strength in times of trial, and had the heart of a true warrior. Likewise, his smile could brighten any room and was loved by all who had the pleasure to meet him.
Antonio spent 28 years at Sinclair & Rush prior to retirement. After which it was his passion to raise his kids, and later, grandkids. He had a love for fútbol and coached in his younger years. He enjoyed playing cards with friends over the weekends, and had a passion for cooking and helping others. Their home was often full and open to anyone stopping by for a meal, which brought joy to his days.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Gutierrez; children and their spouses: Toni and Bryan Ravit, Tami Gutierrez and Robert Schlechter, Antonio and Julie Gutierrez, Alicia and Arturo Saenz, Chuchena and Rony Arevalo, Lupe and Juan Albarran, Fernando and Veronica Gutierrez, Lalo Martinez, Richard Kindle and Jodi McCabe, Eric Kindle and Casey Galbraith, Tish and Ed Richard, Renee and Jarid Hardee; his sisters Cuca and Aurelia, and his many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Ramona, brothers, Ignacio, Jesus, and Juan, and his daughter Dolores Martinez.
His presence here is gravely missed, but his family and friends find solace knowing that he walks above, free of ailments, and is finally at peace.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Herr Funeral Home, 501 W. Main Street, Collinsville, IL, on June 12th, 2025 at 5:00pm. Memorial service to follow at 6:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
