Dr. Arthur Bruce Douglas, 90, of Collinsville, Ill., born March 23, 1921, in Cordova, Ala., died at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, in Maryville, Ill.
Doc was the former owner of Douglas Small Animal Hospital in Collinsville, Ill. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Collinsville, Ill., where he sang in the church choir. He was a very active member for more than 51 years in the Collinsville Noontime Lions Club. He was also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and a 60 year member of the Illinois State Animal Association. Doc loved to fish, play golf and work in his garden and was a skilled wood craftsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Edna, nee Hodges, Douglas; and sister and brother-in-law, Erin and Ross Dean.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita, nee Hutchison, Douglas of Collinsville, Ill.; daughters, Lynn (James) Schwander of Collinsville, Ill., Shelley (Dennis) Noble of Denver, Colo., and Peggy (John) Hirt of LaGrange, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Collinsville, Ill., with the Rev. Greg Pratt officiating. Interment in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
