Arthur Eugene "Gene" Warren, 79, of Collinsville, Ill., born Aug. 1, 1935, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at his home.

Gene was the owner of Warren Metal Company for over 40 years. He was a past Captain and retired from the State Park Fire Department after more than 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the Armed Forces, a member of VFW Post 5691, and the American Legion Post 365 of Collinsville, Ill.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife Sandy, nee Albrecht, Warren, whom he married on Aug. 26, 1961; his father and mother, Arthur W. and Helen L., nee Miller, Warren; two brothers, Charles and Kenneth; and a sister, Martha.

Surviving Gene are his sons, Michael "Mick" Warren, William "Bill" (Allison) Warren, and Robert "Rob" Warren; nephew, Douglas (Tina) Albrecht; grandsons, William L. Warren Jr., Derc (Stephanie) Albrecht, Cory (Laura) Albrecht, and Robert (Melissa) Joyce; great-grandchildren, Hailey Nicole Joyce, Kale Anthony Albrecht, and Hadley Ranee Albrecht; a sister, Mary Prange; and a brother, Douglas (Lillian) Smith; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
