Barbara Lee Dippold, age 77 of Troy, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 9:35 a.m. at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. She was born September 29, 1944, in Edwardsville, Illinois and was the daughter of the late LeRoy and LaVerne (nee Wilkinson) Reiter.

She married Karl A. Dippold July 2, 1970, in Edwardsville, Illinois. He survives.

Prior to retirement she was self-employed as a hairdresser for 25 years. In addition, she worked many years as a special needs assistant in the Edwardsville public school district.  She is survived and will be greatly missed by a daughter, Dana (Brian) Kabbes of Edwardsville, Illinois; a sister Nancy Reiter of Maryville, Illinois; a sister-in-law Mabel Henschen of Edwardsville, Illinois; two grandchildren, Tyler (Jackie) Kabbes of Kansas City, Kansas and Kelcey (Jory) Chadwick of Edwardsville, Illinois; two great grandchildren, Lillian Chadwick and Elena Chadwick; other extended family and many friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by one sister, Diana G. Alvis.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive, Glen Carbon, Illinois.
