Barbara "Barb" Lettie Milam (nee Lassen) - Age 78, of Granite City, IL, passed away peacefully with her son Vernon "Russell" by her side on Saturday, February 18, 2023, after a lengthy battle with lung cancer and renal failure.

Survived by her two children Loretta VanWynsberg and Vernon "Russell" Parks Jr.  Eight grandchildren Dawn, Rusty, Tabitha, Steven, Tina, Taylor, Colton and Emily; seven great grandchildren Alexa, Brayden, Connor, Alana, Andrew, Thai and Annaliegh.  A sister Janice (Jim) Tipler and a brother Gary (Gloria) Lassen; two special nieces Debbie Ortiz and Janet Baum.  Also survived by several other nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Helen (late Frank) Barrett and Marjorie (late Jay) Ortiz, her brother Harold (Marie) Lassen and a grandson Andrew Hampton.

Barb was born July 15, 1944, in Venice, Illinois.  She was a devout Christian and started every morning by reading her daily devotions, which she shared with her sister, Janice.

Member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Granite City, where she was also a member of the quilting circle, as well as the church prayer wheel.

She enjoyed gospel and country music, and watching RFD-TV.  She was known to binge watch 'Blue Bloods' and 'Reba' on a regular basis.  Barb loved traveling to Branson with her longtime companion, 'CW', her sister and other friends.

Retired from Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville in 2007, where she was a CNA.  Prior to working as a CNA she worked for Swift Printing Company in St. Louis for over 30 years.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 9:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Jesse Tedder officiating  Internment Sunset Hill Memorial Estates.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to Calvary Baptist Church, Promedica Hospice or charity of donors choice will be appreciated.
