Barbara Lynn Spencer, nee Buttry, 62, of Troy, Ill., born June 15, 1949, in Alton, Ill., died on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Lake Medical Center in Bradenton, Fla.



Mrs. Spencer was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she was actively involved with 31 Young Reasons "Teen Mops." She had also been involved with the women's ministries at Bethel.



Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Vernal E. and Alta, nee Hood, Buttry; a brother, Floyd; and a sister, Wanda.



Surviving are her husband, Dane Spencer of Troy, Ill.; children, Dr. Chris (John) Midkiff of Troy, Ill., Bradley (Lisa) Spencer of Alton, Ill., and Chad (Farah) Spencer of Kansas City, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Lindsey, Macie, Alexis, Morgan, Josiah, Emma, Noah, Hope and Claire; a brother, Wayne (Marlene) Buttry of East Alton, Ill.; and sister, Nina (Sam) Beem of Troy, Ill.
