Bernadine A. Brecht, nee Roth, 88, of Edwardsville, Ill., born Sept. 29, 1924, in Kampsville, Ill., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 3, 2013.

Mrs. Brecht was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Bernadine was preceded in death by her first husband, George R. Postlewait; her second husband, Milton Brecht; parents, Mathias and Margaret, nee Becker, Roth; brothers, Gerald Roth, Vincent and Kay Roth, Rolland and Vera Roth and Jerome Roth; and brother-in-law, Bill Wester.

Surviving are her daughters, Phyllis Postlewait of Louisville, Colo., Dianne (Robert) Drainer of Columbia, Mo., Ginny (Calvin) Jarrell of Edwardsville, Ill., Mary (Jim) Spaulding of Katy, Texas and Joan (Paul) Pfeifer of Godfrey, Ill.; sisters and brothers, Margaret Wester of Golden Eagle, Ill., Betty (George) Witt of Greenfield, Ill., Albert (Posie) Roth of Carrolton, Ill., Cletus (Joan) Roth of Greenfield, Ill., Fred (Betty Ann) Roth of Carlinville, Ill., and Alberta Lizenby of Hettick, Ill.; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Roth of Jerseyville, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, Ron, Michelle, Jamie, Jason, Jeremy, Amber, Megan, Jaime, Dane, Tony and Juan; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, at St. John Catholic Church in Carrollton, Ill., with Father Henry Schmidt officiating. Interment in St. John Cemetery, Carrollton, Ill.
