Betty June Funke, 89, of Barrington, Ill. and previously of Sun City Center, Florida and Collinsville, Ill. passed away on March 15, 2017 at Alden Estates of Barrington with family by her side.
Betty was born on November 6, 1927 in St Louis, Missouri the daughter of Russell P. and Lola E. (Biggs) Berthoux. Betty spent her career with the United States Aviation Systems Command in St. Louis, Mo. where she was a tech writer and editor for the United States Army. In her spare time she was very involved in charitable work with the Eastern Star (where she held the title of Worthy Matron), the Lions Club, the Loyal Order of Moose, and was a long time member of the Sun City Center United Methodist Church.
Betty is survived by her sisters Dorothy (the late William) Noel and Shirley (the late Harold) Nye; her nieces and nephews Terry Lyn (Chip) Micell, Judy (Ron) Crow, Daniel (Rebecca) Nye and Ronald (Natasha) Nye; as well as many great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lola Mears and Russell Berthoux, her husbands Clarence Funke, Eugene Page and
Clifford Carpenter and her brothers-in-law William Noel and Harold Nye.

Service: A memorial gathering will be on Saturday June 24, 2017 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, Illinois with a memorial service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joy Caschetta officiating. Inurnment will immediately follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Illinois
