Betty Jean Foster, 73, of Caseyville, Illinois, passed away on May 4, 2021, at Belleville Memorial Hospital.

Betty was born June 16, 1947, in Carbondale, Illinois, to John Kenneth Wayne and Dorothy Jean (Fiscus) Burger.

She loved to fish and be on a bank with a pole and a bobber. She enjoyed going to bingo and playing the slot machines.

Betty is survived by her significant other of 36 years, Russell Lee Southers of Caseyville, Illinois; sons:  John Smith of Belleville, Illinois and Kevin Isaac Smith of Belleville; daughter, Tonya Smith of Caseyville, Illinois; brother, Kenny (Lynn) Burger of Washington State; sisters:  Shirley (Paul) Corzine of Caseyville, Illinois and Kenna Jo (Albert) Schultz of Missouri; grandchildren: Tabitha Jean Smith, Melissa Simmons, Elizabeth Klier, John Smith, Christopher Smith; great-grandchildren: Landon Barron and Isabella Simmons; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been accorded by Herr Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
