Betty J. Hampsch, nee Goetz, 88, of Highland, Ill., formerly of Collinsville, Ill., born Wednesday, March 24, 1926, passed away at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at Faith Care Center in Highland, Ill.

Betty was active in Thrift Shop at the First United Presbyterian Church in Collinsville and enjoyed fishing and camping and sewing. She was a former worker in the cafeteria at Collinsville High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Collinsville, Ill., the Seniors on Wheels ever Ready and the Junior Service Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hampsch, whom she married on Nov. 7, 1942; a son, Kevin Hampsch; her parents, Albert and Pearl, nee Ohlendorf, Goetz; and a sister, Maxine Hankins.

Surviving are her children, Stephen (Linda Marie) Hampsch of Alhambra, Ill., David (Deanna Sue) Hampsch of Collinsville, Ill., Beverly (Dale) Tipton of Trenton, Ill., and Janet (Bob) Wittenborn of Sparta, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at the funeral home with Chad Hampsch officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Ill.
