Betty J. McAllister, nee Johnson, 82, of Maryville, Ill., born Friday, March 31, 1933, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Liberty Village Nursing Home in Maryville, Ill., surrounded by her loving family.
Betty retired from Anderson Hospital in Maryville as a dietician and also Bert's Chuckwagon in Collinsville. She was an active member of Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville where she was a Lay Minister. Betty belonged to the Ladies of the Knights at the Knights of Columbus in Collinsville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Rose, nee Recklein, Johnson Sr.; an infant daughter, Connie Rae McAllister; a brother, William Johnson; and a sister, Darlene Barnes.
Surviving are two daughters, Debra McAllister of Collinsville, Ill., and Kathleen (Curt) Malham of Shorewood, Ill.; a son, Kenneth (Jane) McAllister Jr., of Collinsville, Ill.; three grandsons, Shane (Erica) Oliver, Chris (Erika) Oliver and Kenneth McAllister III; a great-granddaughter, Sydney Kaelin Oliver; and a sister and three brothers, Richard (Juanita) Johnson Jr., of Virginia Beach, Va., Dorothy Scalcione of Collinsville, Ill., Robert (Juanita) Johnson of Collinsville, Ill., and Russell Johnson of Collinsville, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at the church with father John Beveridge officiating. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
