Obituary

Betty Jane "Sue" (Klobuchar), Barnhart (nee Miley) was called home to our Lord on Monday, January 1, 2024, with her family at her side. She was reunited with her husband Robert Barnhart, her beautiful daughter Kyle Converse, on her 60th birthday, and her handsome son Curt Klobuchar.

Born November 28, 1936, in Philadelphia, PA to Wesley Alfred Miley and Marjorie Hess. She attended Quakertown High School, Quakertown PA where she loved playing field hockey. Sue was beautiful, talented, witty, energetic, helpful, generous and had a beautiful smile.

She was employed by Unit 10, school district and loved being involved at Hollywood Heights school. She coached basketball, painted murals in the halls and much more. Kids knew to quiet down when she walked the halls, with her high heels clicking. If she knew of a child who didn't have a coat or enough food at home, she would supply the need. Sue helped make lunches for kids with Women on Mission at Bethel Baptist Church, Troy. She was involved with the PTA, Jr. Service Club, Pink Ladies at Oliver Anderson Hospital and more. She loved to play scrabble and rummy, especially with her grandkids. She loved watching The Price is Right, going to the Casino, horse races, and sunbathing at Cocoa Beach, Florida.
She also had a passion for her yard. She had a real "green thumb" - even winning yard of the month. On Friday evenings Sue volunteered at the American Legion as a cashier for the Friday night fish fry.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents: Father, Wesley Alfred Miley; Mother, Marjorie Hess; Stepfather, Winfield Scott Hess; First husband, Curt Klobuchar: 2nd, Robert Barnhart: Son, Curtis Gene Klobuchar; and Daughter, Kyle Sue Pauline Converse.

Sue is survived by her sister and brothers, Mary Lou Brown, New Jersey; Bruce Miley, Cocoa Beach, Florida, Wesley Miley, Texas. Her children, Kim Ann (Mike) Mooney, Troy; Beth (Carlos) Mendez, Highland Park, IL; and Scott Paul (Jackie) Klobuchar, Pocahontas, IL. Grandchildren, Michael Mooney; Jared Mooney; Joseph Oliver; Leslie Klaus; Kristy Troxel; David Giber; Kassy Converse; Katie Armstrong; Chrissy Boutin; Kelly Klobuchar Rush; Amy Keltner-Klobuchar; Emily Klobuchar; and Hayley Klobuchar. Eighteen great-grandchildren and beloved nieces and nephews.

Thank you to Anderson Hospital staff, and Vista Healthcare who lovingly made our mom comfortable. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Heart Association to raise awareness for high blood pressure risks, or to Metastatic Breast Cancer research in honor of Kyle.

A private graveside service will be held.

We will forever love you, miss you and will see you again.
