Bill R. Thomas, 87, of Caseyville, Ill., born on June 26, 1926, in Kemp, Texas, died at 7 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, in Mascoutah, Ill.
Mr. Thomas had retired from Monsanto Co., in Sauget, Ill. He was also a World War II Army veteran, a member of the American Legion and a life long member of the Caseyville VFW. Bill was an avid square dancer, dancing in many clubs including the Boots and Slippers Square Dance Club.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Doris "Doby," nee Carter, Thomas; parents, Roy and Ruth, nee Johns, Thomas; a grandson, Christopher Ridgeway; and a sister, Jean Balma.
Surviving are his son, Raymond (Estrella) Thomas of Deltona, Fla.; daughter, Joyce Ann (Richard) Ridgeway of Royalton, Ill.; grandchildren, Robert Thomas, Tim Thomas, Charlie Thomas, Christina Hyatt and William Ridgeway; sister, Pat Tack of California; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
