Bill E. Williamson, 66, of Glen Carbon, Ill., born Sunday, Oct. 9, 1949, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, in Maryville, Ill.
Bill retired as the body shop manager from Albrecht-Hamlin Chevrolet in Wood River, Ill. Along with his love for animals he enjoyed bicycling, vacationing, and Cardinals baseball and was an avid Corvette enthusiast. He was past president of the Mississippi Valley Corvette Association, and for many years has been a member of the National Corvette Restorers Society.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill V. Williamson.
Surviving are his wife, Connie, nee Zajac, Williamson, whom he married on Nov. 27, 1971; his mother, Jean E., nee Bennett, Williamson Crone of Glen Carbon, Ill.; sister, Tara Williamson of Carterville, Ill.; stepbrother, Mark (Donna) Leezy of Maryville, Ill.; sister-in-law, Marlene (Louis) Branz of Oro Valley, Ariz.; and brother-in-law, Chris (Marie) Zajac of Festus, Mo.
Memorials may be made to the Madison County Humane Society in Edwardsville, Ill.
A memorial gathering will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 29, 2015, at the Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Dr., Glen Carbon, Ill.
