Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Age 89.
Survived by 4 children Rhonda Garrison, Brenda (Jeff Rogers) Hill, Billy (Crystal) Hale and Steven (Lisa) Hale; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his loving wife Yvonne (nee Tipps) Hale; his significant other Judy Glaser; his parents Charles and Iona (nee McCloughlin) Hale; two daughters Kathy Edwards and Sherri Sanders; a grandson Jeffrey Edwards, his brothers Jack and Charles Hale and a sister Carol Wehling.
Billy was born August 31, 1932 in Alton, Illinois. Veteran of the US Army, retired General Motors after 30 years of service. Member of the American Legion in Edwardsville and the VFW of Edwardsville. He enjoyed all outdoor activities especially boating and fishing, he enjoyed tinkering with cars and model trains.
He was a loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountains Drive, Glen Carbon, on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Interment Sunset Hill Memorial Estates. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Lupus Foundation of America, 8050 Watson Road, Suite 169, St. Louis, MO 63119, will be appreciated. Visitation will be held Friday, May 27th from 11:00 AM until the time of services at 1:00 PM.
