Bobby Joe Douglas, Sr., 78, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 28th, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born Thursday, January 27th, 1938 in Carlisle, TN, to Stanley and Jean (nee Jackson) Douglas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers; Charles Douglas, John Douglas, Marvin Douglas and Donald Douglas.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Jean (nee Clements) Douglas, sons; Bobby Joe (Nancy) Douglas, Jr., of Troy, IL, Dwain E. (Rocky) Douglas of Granite City, IL, one sister, Lynda Johnson of Junction, IL, grandchildren; Natasha, Kimberly, Joshua, Laura, Daniel and great-grandchildren; Kathleen and Braelynn.

Bobby served his country valiantly in the United States Marine Corps., retiring after 13 years of service to his country. He was a teacher for 21 years with Ranken and he was in Civil Service for almost 7 years. Bobby was a member of Copper Creek Christian Church of Maryville, IL.

Bobby Joe loved the Lord, his wife and family, friends and traveling.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 2nd, 2016 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Copper Creek Christian Church in Maryville, IL. Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 2nd, 2016 at 11:00 am at the church. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
