Brenda Kay Cowgill, 63 years old, was born on October, 3, 1957, in (fill in place of birth), and passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in O'Fallon, IL.

Brenda was an active member of the Caseyville Fireman's Auxiliary, she was very fond of camping with her family, and loved going to the beach and planning and taking trips.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Cowgill, her parents, Ruman and Betty Smithers, her brother, Robert Smithers, her step-father, Joseph Mahoney, her father in-law, James Lloyd Cowgill, and her grandson, Eli Theis.

Brenda is survived by her children, Stacy (Garry) Milligan, Stephanie (Jaylon) Rolens, and Jeanna (Joshua Theis) Cowgill, her step-son, Jeremy (Lindsey) Stanton, her siblings, Ron Smithers, Pat (Bill) Brasel, and Donny (Stacey) Smithers, her mother in-law, Emma Cowgill, her sister in-law, Vicki Schmidt, her grandchildren, Garry Milligan Jr., Elizabeth Milligan, Blake Milligan, Ashleigh Milligan, Lexi Rolens, Colton Durnell, and Emma Theis, her step-grandchildren, Nora Stanton and Milo Stanton, her great-grandchildren, Zinnia Milligan and Olivia Tomlin, and several cherished nieces and nephews.

The family has asked that memorial donations be made in honor of Brenda to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

A memorial service, put together by the family, will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 3:30 pm at Copper Creek Christian Church, located in Maryville, IL 62062. Dinner will follow services.
