IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brian David
Koke
October 25, 1966 – March 7, 2023
Brian David Koke, 56, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in Maryville, IL. Brian was born on October 25, 1966 in Troy, Illinois to parents, Elmer and Judith (nee Brehm) Koke.
Brian was an outdoorsman to say the least. He loved being outdoors and could mostly be found out somewhere camping, hiking, or fishing. He worked at Barnes Hospital and assisted in the well-being and survival of countless people as he delivered blood and worked in the cancer center there.
Brian loved to fix things and tinker around with anything he could get his hands on. He could fix anything and always wanted something to 'play' with. Brian was a kind man, good neighbor, and great friend. He would always stop what he was doing to help someone if they were in need.
He was a caring and loving husband and father, and made sure that his family always knew how much he loved them. He loved spending time with his family, going to craft shows, flea markets, and yard sales. Brian also enjoyed traveling with his wife, Tina, and they spent many happy times together in places such as Las Vegas and Branson, MO. Luckily for him, Tina was a great cook because Brian loved to eat, even when he was no longer able to, he would keep trying.
He was a family man and was immensely proud of his daughter, Alyssa, who he had the opportunity of watching graduate college before his passing. Brian was a fun-loving, goofy guy. He had four cats who loved him dearly, and miss him everyday.
Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Balsters and grandmother, Esta Brehm.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Tina Koke; adored daughter, Alyssa Koke; best kitties, Millie, Gracie, Kirbie, and Koda; father, Elmer Koke; brothers, Phil and Gregg; sisters, Marla, Lisa, and Michelle; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Services for Brian will be held at Herr Funeral Home, 501 W. Main Street in Collinsville, Illinois on Friday, March 17, 2023. Family will receive guests from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm with funeral services to follow at 5:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brian's family to assist with medical expenses, or The American Diabetes Association.
