Carl Edwin Lewis, 89, of Granite City, Ill., born December 19, 1925, in Granite City, Ill., died Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Eden Village Care Center, Glen Carbon, Ill.

Mr. Lewis was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances, nee Cordia, Lewis; his parents, James Ralph and Minnie Lewis; and a son, Carl Lewis Jr.

Surviving are his children, Cheryl Friedman of Granite City, Ill., Kathy Lloyd of Worden, Ill., Deborah Lewis of Granite City, Ill., Shirley Smart of Bushnell, Fla., and David Lewis of Granite City, Ill.; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
