Carol M. Brown, 79, died peacefully at 11:56 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024, at University Care Center in Edwardsville.

Born March 22, 1945, in Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Verna (Wachter) Linkeman. She proudly lived in Rosewood Heights on "Birch" for many years loving and caring for both family and home.

Growing up, Carol Mae wanted only 3 things: to wear high-heeled shoes, to smoke cigarettes and to be a mom. Surviving are her daughter, Amy Brown-Marshall (Brian) and one sister, Shirley Sethaler. As well as with many nieces and nephews, whom she loved and missed. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Nekola, and a nephew.
