Carol (Gelso) Garceau,  67 of Caseyville, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, in O'Fallon, Illinois after a long courageous battle with cancer. Carol was born on February 20, 1956 to parents Andrew and Erma (Decker) Gelso in East St. Louis, Illinois.

Carol had a strong work ethic, and she excelled at everything she did. She loved her job as a clerk at a Fairmount Racetrack, which she did for many years before eventually retiring. Carol was an avid pool player, and enjoyed playing Bingo. What she loved most of all was her family, who will miss her tremendously.

Carol is  preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Erma Gelso, along with sister Jeanann Tucker and Brother Andrew "Bubsy" Gelso.

She leaves behind her two greatest accomplishments, her children, Bruce Huelsman Jr, and Tiffany Hunter to carry on her memory. Along with her grandchildren Gene Swift, Samantha Swift, Kyle Swift and 5 great-grandchildren. Carol also leaves behind her 3 sisters, Judy Randazo, Diana (Rickey) Adams and Donna Gelso and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 7th from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Caseyville Moose Lodge. Located at 8550 Bunkum Road (intersection of Bunkum Rd. and Black Ln.), Caseyville, IL, 62232.
