Carol S. Steward, 66, of Alton, Illinois passed away Thursday, May 12th, 2016 in Maryville, Illinois. She was born on Wednesday, February 1st, 1950 in Edwardsville, Illinois to Udell and Marie (Vieth) Reid.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles A. "Skip" Steward, Sr., brother, Bruce Reid, brother-in-law, Edward Kuethe and sister-in-law, Linda Combs.

Carol is survived by children; Charles "Skip" (Vicki) Steward, Jr., of Moro, Illinois, and Joe (Kelly) Steward of St. Charles, Missouri, sister, Jean Kuethe of Edwardsville, Illinois, mother-in-law, Kathy Steward, sister-in-law, Brenda (Ron) Grigg, and brothers-in-law; Mark Combs, Dan (Rick) Vetter, and James (Kelli) Steward.

She is further survived by nephews; Jeff Kuethe of Edwardsville, Illinois and Nathan (Beth) Kuethe of Worden, Illinois, great nieces; Madison and Ashley Kuethe of Worden, Illinois, grandchildren; Justin, Chantel, Ethan, and Kyra, and great-grandchild, Emerson, and additional nieces, nephews and friends.

Carol was a homemaker which included being a loving caregiver to her mother for many years. She was a great cook and was always trying new recipes or developing her own. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays and making craft items. Her dog, "Missy," was her pride and joy for over 15 years.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday, May 16th, 2016 at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Illinois, with funeral at the funeral home at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Kuethe, Nathan Kuethe, Willard Butcher, Mark Combs, Dan Vetter, and Rick Ellis.
