Carole Regina Smith, nee Kennerknecht, 80, of Collinsville, Ill., born Aug. 9, 1933, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away at 10:42 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at her residence.

Carole was a graduate of Notre Dame and belonged to the Alumni Association. She worked as a travel agent for Triple A for many years. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Deloris, nee Bailey, Kennerknecht Sr.; and two brothers, Robert Kennerknecht Jr., and Eugene Kennerknecht.

Surviving are a daughter, Laura Smith of Kansas City, Mo.; son, Richard Smith of Honolulu, Hawaii; two granddaughters, Emma Smith of Ozark, Mo., and Claire Smith of Ozark, Mo.; and her sister, Maryann Kennerknecht of Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the church with Father John Beveridge officiating. Interment will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
