GRANITE CITY, IL- Carolyn S. Sander, 69, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL.

Carolyn was born December 13, 1949 in St. Louis, MO to John Edward and Erma (Patterson) Adams. They preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Michael "Butch" Adams, Cathy Adams and Johnny Adams; and two brother-in-laws, James Sutphin and William Higgins.

Carolyn is survived by her son, William (wife, Krise) Sander of Belleville; four grandchildren, Lynde (husband, Wes) Hockaday, Colin Sander, Della Sander and Edward Sander, all of Granite City, IL; great-grandchildren, Levi and Henry Hockaday; and siblings, Linda Sutphin, Joyce (husband, Dennis) Wickham, and Sandy Higgins.

Carolyn's main devotion in life was to her family and she cherished the time she was able to spend with them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

VISITATION: A visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 10:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive, Glen Carbon, IL 62034.

SERVICE: A service will immediately follow the visitation, at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Glen Carbon, IL.
