Cecile LaSurs

Cecile Marie A. LaSurs, 100, formerly of Collinsville, Ill. born March 22, 1916 in New Orleans, La., passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Cecile was a very loving and caring person who was loved by all and her family considered her the best mother in the world. She was also a faithful member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Caseyville, Ill. and a member of St Anne's Altar Society and she truly enjoyed quilting.

The daughter of the late Emil and Marie, nee Bouchard, Fayollat. She was also preceded by her husband, Dale; one daughter, Lynn Maurer; one grandson, Scott Kueker; and brothers, Lucien, Elie, and Paul Fayollat.

Cecile is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Richard) Treloar; grandchildren, Kevin (Nicole) Kueker, Shawn (Shayna) Kueker, and Katie and Aaron Maurer; three great-grandchildren, Nichole, Seth and Viviane; and a son-in-law, Ross Maurer of Waunake, Wis.

Memorials may be made at the funeral home to either Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or in the form of masses. Condolences to the family may be expressed through this online guestbook.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m on Thursday March 23, 2017, at the Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, Ill.

Service: Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Friday March 24, 2017, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Caseyville, Ill., with Father Tad Gegotek officiating. Interment to follow at the SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
