MARYVILLE- Charles F. Carey, 88, of Maryville, formerly of Collinsville, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Liberty Village of Maryville.

Charles was born on January 27, 1929 in Dallas, TX to Thomas and Cecillia Springman Carey. He married Joyce Marie Carey on April 19, 1952; she preceded him in death on March 23, 1988.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steven Carey; and one sister, Sophie Blackburn.

Charles is survived by his children, Connie Womack of Maryville, John (Vicky) Carey of Highland, and Doris (Richard) Clark of Maryville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Charles proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He attended Holy Rosary Church in Fairmont City.

He worked as a mechanic for 40 years before retiring.

Funeral: A funeral will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville. Interment will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
