Charles Dean Geiler, 74, of Pocahontas, Illinois, transitioned to heaven on Sunday, April
25, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, O'Fallon, Illinois.
Dean was born November 14, 1946, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Charles Frederick and
Billie Adelle (Brown) Geiler. He served his country in the United States Navy. In 1973,
he and Ruby Joyce Mayhall were married June 17, 1973. He finished his working career
at the Maintenance Department of the Post Office Bulk Mail Center in Hazelwood,
Missouri.
He was a member of the Navigation Church in Collinsville, Illinois.
Dean is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joyce Geiler of Pocahontas, Illinois; sons:
Charles Lawrence Geiler and wife Lisa of Caseyville, Illinois, and John Roger Geiler and
wife Christina of Collinsville, Illinois, sister, Priscilla Dale Wald of St. Louis, Missouri;
and 4 grandchildren.
A gathering will take place on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
at the Navigation Church, 1205 Vandalia, Collinsville, Illinois. A Celebration of Life
will start at 6:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Dennis Amsden officiating. Burial will
take place with a private family service on Thursday, April 29, 2021, under the direction of Herr Funeral Home of Collinsville, Illinois.
