Charles G. "Poncho" Giovando, 87, of Collinsville, Ill., born on July 31,1926, in Collinsville, Ill., died at 10:08 a.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2014, in Collinsville, Ill.

Mr. Giovando worked for the railroad for more than 39 years. He was a long time member of Alpha and Omega Christian Fellowship in Collinsville, Ill., and a life time member of the American Legion and the VFW in Collinsville, Ill. He was a World War II US Navy veteran and a Korean War US Army veteran.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie, nee Bales, Giovando; parents, Charles J. and Amelia, nee Jones, Giovando; and grandson, Logan Willeford.

Surviving are his daughters, June (Dale) Willeford of Collinsville, Ill., and Elizabeth Giovando of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, Mathew Willeford and Lauren Willeford; and great-grandsons, Luke Willeford and Charles Willeford.
