Charles L. Osburn, 87, of Belleville, Ill., born Tuesday, Sept. 20, 1927, in Walshville, Ill., passed away at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.

Charles enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. His main passion in life was his wife Betty whom he was married to for 65 wonderful years. He also loved sharing his stories about growing up in the country, and what he experienced during his wonderful life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Hazel, nee McPhail, Osburn; and three sisters, Vivian Hemken, Joyce Hamby and Lois Ryan.

Surviving are his wife, Betty, nee Perkins, Osburn, whom he married on April 30, 1949; a daughter, Debra (Joseph) Maitret of Swansea, Ill.; a son, Kelly Osburn of Collinsville, Ill.; two grandsons, Matthew (Denice) Maitret and Mark (Jamie) Maitret; great-grandchildren, Riley, Kai, Caleb, Emily, Kaitlyn, Alyson, Lilyanna and Madelyn; and many nieces and nephews.
