Joan Cherree Rapp, 83, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, passed away on February 8, 2022, at Meridian Village, Glen Carbon, Illinois.

Cherree was born September 20, 1938 in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Howard Webster and Amelia (Berg) Rapp.  She began working in her early 20's as a clerk for the U.S. District Court in East St. Louis, IL, and continued working there until her retirement.

Throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling, flowers/plants, and had a soft spot for animals of all kinds.  She loved to read and had a passion for learning about new things and everything around her.

She was preceded by her parents; her fraternal twin sister, Sharon Mansini; sister Jacquie Rains; as well as her long time Fiancé, Ronald Hughes.

Survivors include her loving niece, Julie Schottel of Troy, Illinois; great niece, Alyssa Schottel; and great nephew, Andrew Schottel.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Illinois.  Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Glen Carbon, Illinois.
