COLLINSVILLE, IL- Clara Rose, 91, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Clara was born January 21, 1927 in East St. Louis, IL, to John and Caroline (Stochmad) Rataj. She married Richard N. Rose on June 26, 1948; he preceded her in death on July 21, 1986.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Steve (wife, Mary) Rataj, Anne Barkowski, Frank (wife, Rose) Ratay, Rose Stites, Charlotte (husband, Raymond) Sirgo, Sophie Layland, and William (wife, Jolline) Ratay.

She is survived by her children, Dennis (Vicki) Rose of Collinsville, IL and Scott (Shawndel) Rose of St. Jacob, IL; five grandchildren, Tim, Randy, Jeff, Josh and Abbey; and nine great-grandchildren.

Clara worked and retired from the State of Illinois in employment security for 35 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Troy, IL. In years past, she was involved with the Senior Citizens Center and the Citizen's Police Academy in Swansea. Clara loved her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Blackjack Cemetery in Troy, IL. Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, IL is assisting the family with arrangements.
