COLLINSVILLE- Clarence "Pete" V. Mims, 85, of Collinsville, IL passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at his residence.

Pete was born on April 20, 1932 in Tallapoosa, MO to Francis Calvin and Rosa (Romine) Mims. He married Dorothy Vancely on October 28, 1950 in Gideon, MO. She survives and resides in Collinsville, IL.

Also surviving are his children, Marilyn Lacquey of Caseyville, IL, Terry (Angel) Mims of Collinsville, IL, Cindy (Robert) Santerre of Yelm, WA, Laura (Tom) Burcham of Collinsville, IL, Beverly (Shane) Kellett of Sullivan, IN, and Carey Mims of Collinsville, IL; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James Mims; two brothers, Carl and Sam; and one sister, Helen.

Pete proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1948-1949. He worked as a truck driver and a siding contractor for many years. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

VISITATION: A visitation for Pete will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 4:00 P.M.- 6:00 P.M. at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, IL.

SERVICE: A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Friends may gather an hour prior to the service, from 10:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. Interment will be at Farina Cemetery in Farina, IL.
