Claude Ellis Jr., 62, of Caseyville, Ill., born May 15, 1954, in Memphis, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at home with his family at his bedside.

Claude worked for the Village of Caseyville and before that he worked for Calvin Johnson Nursing Home for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Ellis Sr. and Ida nee Nauling, Ellis.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley Ellis of Caseyville, Ill.; son, James and his wife Malinda Norris of Collinsville, Ill.; two grandsons, Brayden and Presley; sister, Suzanne Ellis of Belleville, Ill.; six sisters in laws, two brothers in laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

As was Claude''s request, cremation rites will be accorded and the memorial gathering will be held at 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016 from the First Baptist Church, Caseyville, Ill.
