Clyde Phelps Sr.

Clyde Wayne Phelps Sr., 89, of Maryville, Ill., born Sept. 11, 1927, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at Liberty Village, Maryville, Ill.

Clyde was a diesel mechanic and was owner-operator of East Side Tractor and Trailer at National City Stockyards. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Laura June, nee Peck, Phelps; parents, Clyde and Emma, nee Hughes, Phelps; a sister Bernice Russell; brothers Carl, Gene, Cecil, Lendell, Vonal D. and Granville Phelps; and sons, Rayburn and David Phelps.

Clyde is survived by one son Wayne (Vicki) Phelps of Maryville, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, Dolores Phelps of Maryville, Ill.; grandchildren, Ray (Rusty) Phelps, Randy (Becca Cassens) Phelps, Jason (Heather) Phelps and Jennifer (Ryan) Richert; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Dustin Phelps, Annabella, Cheyenne and Baylee Phelps, Emma, Leah and Jake Phelps, and Ava and Mason Richert.

The family would like to give special thanks to Liberty Village of Maryville, Ill., and Vitas Hospice.
