Obituary

U.S. Army Colonel Peter Duval Jordan, born Jan. 11, 1965, in St. Louis, Mo., transitioned to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013.

Mr. Jordan was the oldest of two children born to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Ulice (Yvonne Neely) Jordan. He was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East St. Louis, Ill. He attended St. Patrick Catholic School and the Edwardsville Illinois Public Schools graduating from Edwardsville Senior High School in 1983. He enrolled in Southern Illinois University Carbondale and graduated in 1992 with a bachelor of science degree in liberal studies with emphasis in biological science.

Colonel Jordan enlisted in the United States Army in August of 1984. He attended senior ROTC and eventually received his commission through the Illinois Military Academy Officer Candidate School in July of 1988. As an officer of the military, he received numerous awards and honors including the Bronze Star and the Meritorious Service Medal. Most recently Colonel Jordan worked with the United States Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District, where he was assigned in Phoenix, Ariz., as the Executive Officer for the Arizona/Nevada Area Office Construction Division.

Colonel Jordan married Leslie Wright, on May 19, 1995, and became the proud father of three children.

Colonel Peter Duval Jordan will be remembered and cherished by his wife, Leslie; daughter, Juanita (Darren) LaShell; sons, Christopher and Nicholas, of Avondale, Ariz.; parents, Ulice and Yvonne Jordan of Glen Carbon, Ill.; sister, Kimberly (Christopher) Seay; nephews, Jordan and Andrew Seay of Bentonville, Ark.; four uncles, Edgar Richardson, Rev. Donald (Dorothy) Neely, Eric Neeley, Alphonso (Constance) Neely; seven aunts, Lucille Singleton, Beatrice Frazier, Mary Jones, Antionette Dawkins and Bernadine Mabra. Colonel Jordan will also be cherished by his military family and many other relatives.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Ill.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Ill.
