Cynthia Crisel, 64, of Benld, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19th, 2026, at Gillespie Health and Rehab Center in Gillespie, IL. Cynthia was born on November 14th, 1961, in Belleville, IL, to parents, Lois McClain and Roger Stone. 

Cynthia was fortunate enough in life to be able to experience living in many different states - including Texas, Pennsylvania, and Indiana, before settling back in her home state of IL. She was a fantastic artist - having the ability to draw from memory. She was known for her green thumb and ability to make even the most stubborn of plants grow. During her time in Indiana, she was a faithful member of the Christ Gospel Church - with her faith having carried her through her final days. 

Cynthia is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Lois and Jerry Gilliam; brothers, Jerry F. Gilliam and Sean Gilliam; as well as her grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Surviving are her brothers, Ricky and Jeff Gilliam; sister, Angela Caver; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A small funeral service will be held at Herr Funeral Home on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Pastor Ron Habermehl will be presiding. Interment will take place on a separate date at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.
