Dale A. Coverdell, 60, of Summerfield, Ill., born Wednesday Aug. 26, 1953 in Highland, Ill., died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.

Dale received his first Bachelor of Science degree from SIUE, majoring in economics, and a second Bachelor of Science degree in 1986 from Washington University in data processing. Dale was an avid chess player and loved the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball; College basketball, and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linton Orine, nee Sims, Coverdell, and his fiance, Jane Clark.

Surviving are his father, Wade Anson Coverdell of Belleville, Ill.; three brothers, Lynn (Judy) Coverdell of Glen Carbon, Ill., Marvin Coverdell of Highland, Ill., and Allen (Joy) Coverdell of Mason, Mich.; two sisters, Barbara (Michael) Rogers of Mascoutah, Ill., and Debra (Rich) Brandt of Alhambra, Ill.; and step-mother, Irene Coverdell of Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the funeral home with Lee Swallows officiating. Per family wishes, cremation will be accorded.
