Daniel A. Mullin, 50, of Troy, IL passed away on March 16, 2025 in Maryville, IL.
He was born on October 16, 1974 in Escanaba, MI to Virginia (Vicki) and Michael (Daniel) Mullin.
He Graduated from Escanaba High School in 1993, and joined the United States Air Force that same year. He was proud to serve his country.
While with the US Air Force, he became stationed at Scott Air Force Base where he met his wife, Michelle (Mays) Mullin. They married in August of 1999. Together, they have one son, Kyle Mullin.
After separating from the Air Force in 2002, Dan worked for the US Government as a network engineer. He worked for the government for many years before most recently being employed by Emerson, also as a network engineer.
Dan was a huge Green Bay Packers fan and was always up for having a conversation about his favorite team - or football in general. He also loved hanging out with his son, Kyle. They didn't just have a typical father-son relationship; they had a genuine friendship.
Proceeding Daniel in death are his grandparents, his uncle Tony, and his father-in-law, Bill.
Surviving are his wife, Michelle; son, Kyle; parents, Vicki and Daniel; mother-in-law, Nancy (Brendemihl) Mays; brothers, Jamie (Sara) Mullin of Jamesville, NY, Nick (Meghan) Mullin of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Patrick Mullin of Escanaba, MI; sister-in-law, Karen (Chad) Cosby of Peshtigo, WI; nephews, Tate, Quinn, Connor, Ronan, and David; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Metro East Humane Society .
Funeral service for Mr. Mullin will be held at 12:00pm, Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from the chapel of HERR Funeral Home, 501 West Main Street, Collinsville, Illinois 62234.
Family will receive friends from 10:00am until the hour of service on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the funeral home.
Mr. Mullin will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
