COLLINSVILLE- David L. Hayes, 80, of Collinsville, IL, peacefully transitioned on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Evelyn''s House Hospice Care Center in Creve Coeur, MO.

David was born on July 22, 1937 in Collinsville, IL to Esther Hayes Lott. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, brother Donald Hayes, and paternal sister Jacqueline Stephenson.

His memory will be cherished by his wife, Alice Hayes (nee Lott) of Collinsville; daughters, Linda Hayes, Kathy Hayes, Donna Hayes, Shellie Hayes, Carolyn Hayes, Monica Hayes, and special daughter Tanika Reynolds; nine grandchildren, Andrea, Brittyn, Kevin, Cole, Matthew, Devin, Jennifer, Ryan, and Asia; four great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Kevin, Chase and Kane; brother Versie Hayes; paternal brothers and sisters Marian (David) Hoskin, Roberta Smith, Robert (Susan) Evans, Carol Evans, and Edward (Jan) Evans; uncle Elijah (Peggy) Lott; brother and sister in-laws, Charles (Charlotte ) Lott, Kathryn Ford, Luther Lott, Lorraine Beamon, and Calvin Lott; and many special, devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

David honorably served his country in the United States Army. He retired as a laborer from Labor Local 44 Collinsville.

Friends and family may celebrate his life on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the American Legion, 1022 Vandalia Street, Collinsville, IL from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
