David Michael Wieduwilt, of Collinsville, Ill., born Oct. 20, 1951, passed away at the age of 64 on Nov. 9, 2015, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., after a lengthy battle with heart disease.
Mr. Wieduwilt graduated from Collinsville High School in 1969. He became a union carpenter in 1978 and retired in 2010. He was an active member of Carpenter's Union Local 295/664 serving as shop steward, delegate and trustee during his 37 years of service. He was also a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville, Ill. He enjoyed time spent as a member of Ducks Unlimited and was a life long fan of the Grateful Dead.
David was a devoted husband, excellent father, loving son, brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle. He loved spending time with his family, and was especially proud of the meals he cooked for them to enjoy. He was a free-spirited and multi-talented individual who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking, music, literature and playing guitar. But most of all he enjoyed making everyone laugh with his sharp sense of humor and quick wit. For this he will be greatly missed.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Frank and Ruby Mae, nee Hendrickson, Wieduwilt.
Surviving are his wife, Teri, nee Rohr, Wieduwilt, whom he married on August 1, 1981; his children, Justin (Tara) of Collinsville, Ill., Bethany (Fred) of Collinsville, Ill., and Hannah (Matt) of Fairview Heights, Ill.; brothers, Daniel (Kathy) of Oceanside, Calif., and James (Jayme) of Troy, Ill.; father-in-law, Eugene Rohr of Florissant, Mo.; sister-in-law, Tamara (Jeff) Walchshauser of Foristell, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Christopher) Snider, Aaron Wieduwilt, Karl Wieduwilt, Jacob (Sarah) Wieduwilt, Sean Walchshauser and Joseph Walchshauser; and his aunt, Sylvia (Ken) Robinson of Goodyear, Ariz.
