David L. Wood's Obituary
David L. Wood, 88, of Glen Carbon, Ill., born Sept. 28, 1923, in Granite City, Ill., passed away peacefully of natural causes at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.
David was a devoted, loving and caring father who will be dearly missed. He was a veteran serving his country in the U.S. Navy, and was always helping other people.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Edna, nee Cochran, Wood; three brothers, Norman, Wilbur and Eugene Wood; and a sister, Betty Ebling.
Surviving are his wife, Mary, nee Vinson, Wood of Glen Carbon, Ill.; his son, Larry (Gloria) Wood of Glen Carbon, Ill.; two grandsons, Nicholas Wood of Granite City, Ill., and Timothy Wood of Houston, Texas; and two sisters, Judith (Sandy Goodman) Wood of Madison, Ill., and Shirley Rzonca of San Lorenzo, Calif.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.sunsethillcemetery.com
Funeral: A celebration of David's life will be held with the family at a later date.
