Dean S. Traw of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away on July 4, 2023. He is wrapped in God's loving arms. Dean was born on April 27, 1937 to Orlando and Blanche (Harris) Traw, in Morley, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his sister Sally and his brother Wade.

Beloved Husband of 66 years to the love of his life, Joan. Dean was a gifted student and outstanding athlete who excelled in all sports, especially in basketball.  His love of sports carried on throughout his life, where he coached many basketball, baseball and softball teams to victory. Dean also enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.  What Dean loved the most was his family.

Dean's memory will live on through his loving wife, Joan Traw, and his twin daughters Tam (Bob) Flake, and Pam (Tom) Binger. Dean also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Terance (Courtney) Traugott, Ashley (Ryan) Stubler, Emily (Justin) Stahr and Darin (Courtney) Binger. Along with his great grandchildren, Ava, Lillian and William.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, at 50 Fountain Dr. Glen Carbon, IL. 62034 from 1:00 pm with service starting at 3:00 pm.

Burial will take place on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, at 7136 MO-77, Oran, Missouri. 63771

In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial donations in Dean's honor to go to St. Louis Children's Hospital.
