Debao Liu, 80, resident of Glen Carbon, IL, died in the early morning of May 29, 2022 with his family by his side.

He was the son of the late Xugang Liu and Chunru Zhao, and was born January 7, 1942, Beijing, China.

Before retirement, Debao was a Senior Research Engineer at China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Reseach, Earthquake Engineering Research Center. He enjoyed swimming, hiking, and reading with specail interest in Chinsese history. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone. He was always there to help relatives and friends for whatever people needed him. He will be clearly missed by his family, relatives and friends.

Debao is survived by his wife Shumin Guo, son Qingmin Liu, two grandchildren Brianna Liu and Jasper Liu, and brothers Decheng Liu and Dezhong liu.
