Deloris Ruth Gages, 89, of Fairview Heights, Illinois passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, 3:45 p.m., at Aspen Creek of Troy, Troy, Illinois. Born November 15, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Ezra N. and Irene E. (nee Wofford) Melton. She married John M. Gages on September 18, 1965, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Granite City, Illinois. He preceded her in death.

Prior to retirement, she worked at Continental Can Company where she was a phone operator. She later worked as a childcare worker at First Baptist Child Development Center in Fairview Heights, Illinois.

She was a former member of First Baptist Church in Fairview Heights, Illinois where she enjoyed singing in the choir.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

She is survived by and will be greatly missed by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Bo Wedmore of Troy, Illinois, and by two grandsons, James Wedmore and Logan Wedmore.

She was also preceded in death by a brother Neal Melton and a sister, Cleta Gan.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation Thursday, March 17, 2022, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Illinois.

Private family service and entombment will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Sunset Hill Mausoleum.
